President's Message

Pete Stainthorpe

It is a great privilege and honor to be elected to serve as President of the Bucks County Association of Township Officials. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and thank all of the Board members who have expressed their confidence and support. I promise to work hard over the next two years to make BCATO a stronger, more relevant organization that will truly be your partner in governing your municipality.

I am in my second term as a Township Supervisor in Lower Makefield and currently serve as Chairman. I have been a BCATO Board member since 2005 and also serve on the Board of the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority. As all of you reading this newsletter know, public service is not easy and certainly not for the faint of heart.

Every Township in Bucks County faces unique challenges. We also face many shared challenges. It is those shared challenges where I see a need to focus our resources. We can always do more together than we can alone. To that end, we have formed a Legislative Committee that will become very active over the next few months. We will monitor and report back to you on all legislation introduced in Harrisburg that might affect your community. We will also act as a conduit to our local legislators and lobby on your behalf. While PSATS will continue to be the main voice of townships in Harrisburg, we will be partnering with the other County Association's in Southeastern Pennsylvania to further the needs of our members. Suburban Philadelphia is very different from other parts of the State and we will insure that your voice is heard.

I look forward to working together over the next year and welcome your input, and ask that you contact me anytime with your ideas, suggestions and needs. Thank you for your confidence. Together we can do great things.
