Reps. Wendi Thomas (PA-178) and Frank Farry (PA-142) Take Action
Set to reintroduce legislation to address Sterling Act inequities
For several years BCATO has been working with our legislators to amend the Sterling Act. Enacted in 1932, the Sterling Act was created to assist Philadelphia following the Great Depression by establishing local income taxing authority. During the 2021 BCATO, 'VIrtual' Convention, the BCATO membership voted to support a resolution amending the Sterling Act in favor of the collar county municipalities. Bucks County Representatives Wendi Thomas (PA-178) and Frank Farry (PA-142) will be introducing the Sterling Act Reimbursement/Commuter Tax Fairness Act.
