Our Mission
The Bucks County Association of Township Officials
is composed of officials from the 30 townships of the second class in
the fourth largest county in Pennsylvania.
The Association holds special status since it was created
by the State Legislature and is covered by state law. Therefore, BCATO
is a creature of the commonwealth.
The organization was started in 1908 to provide information
and education to the members so they can better discharge their official
duties.
BCATO reviews legislation and court rulings affecting
local government, has a quarterly newsmagazine to keep its members informed
on trends and concepts in municipal governance, holds two countywide conferences
each year and numerous seminars to help carry out its mandate.
The Association keeps its members current on regional
and statewide concerns by being active in the Southeastern Association
of Township Officials and the Pennsylvania State Association of Township
Supervisors.
